The pre-school Springboard, in Chippenham, has launched a campaign on September 26, to help raise £140 thousand they need each year to aid their charitable work. They support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities aged between 0-5 years.

All the children at Springboard have a speech, language or communication difficulty which impacts on their ability to access the mainstream education.

BABS, Buy A Brick for Springboard, is their new initiative to encourage families, individuals and businesses to donate to the small specialist pre-school charity.

They have created a brick wall which people can have their name on so that supporters can donate. They got music Producer, Adrian Chivers, to go into Springboard and film the children on a typical day at play. Head of Music at Heywood Prep, Angelique Williamson, produced a song called Sunshine to go with the video.

Jane Boulton, Springboard’s Manager said: “We have created a brick wall in the centre so that supporters can donate by buying a brick and having their name on it. This will help ensure we have a future and making sure we have provision for children to come.”

She said: “We’re a small local charity who like to collaborate with local people. The campaign gives people the opportunity to donate, however large or small it can help us and be a part of building a foundation for the future.”

“We don’t want to be the best kept secret in Chippenham anymore, we want people to know about what we do because we’re proud of us and our work.”
