TROWBRIDGE racer Chris Oliver returned to Castle Combe recently to thank the staff at the circuit for all their help during the season.

Back in March, Oliver started motorcycle club racing on his The Garage-backed R1 Yamaha and has since notched up two championship wins in his first season.

In July, Oliver clinched the NG 1300cc Newcomers Championship crown after claiming six podium finishes from six starts.

He followed this up in September by winning the NG Road Racing Club’s 1300cc Streetstock Championship after taking 18 podiums from 22 starts.

Oliver clinched that latter title at Combe and stated afterwards that he had attended motorcycle track days at the track to try and learn the circuit where he was given help from track day administrator Emma Strawford and instructors Neil Sutton and Rob Jones.
