FITNESS fanatics have been rowing, cycling and swimming all morning as part of a Wiltshire wide bid to clock up 25,000 miles in the gym, the equivalent to once around the world for National Fitness Day.
Wiltshire council Cabinet member for leisure Allison Bucknell got stuck in at the gym this morning with people from Calne at the town’s leisure centre in White Horse Way.
But fitness wasn’t always something she was keen on. She said: “When I was at school I would do anything to avoid having to do sports. It wasn’t until my 20’s when I found aerobics classes and loved dancing around to music, for me fitness is all about dancing to music or walking my dogs but everyone needs to find their own thing they like doing.”
Anyone can take part across all Council gyms in the county throughout the day.
