AN appeal is to be heard into a plan to turn land in Heath Lane, Startley, near Chippenham into a private gypsy and caravan site with three pitches.
Wiltshire Council turned down the original planning application but now an appeal has been lodged.
A spokesman for the Planning Inspectorate said that a hearing would be no date has yet been decided. At a meeting of Wiltshire’s strategic planning committee in September, 2017 members rejected the scheme after hearing objections from Great Somerford Parish Council and people living nearby. Councillor Toby Sturgis said the size of the site would be disproportionate.
