The Co-op is set to serve up a new look to its food store in Malmesbury next week following a seven-figure investment.

The store is set to re-open on Thursday, September 26, following 1.1m programme of works and renovation.

When it reopens, the Co-op’s food store on Gloucester Road, which runs on 100% renewable electricity, will have new self-service tills, an improved in-store bakery, national lottery and Paypoint services.

As well at this, the Co-op wishes to bring a new focus on fresh, healthy foods, Costa coffee, meal ideas, and award-winning wines.

Brendan Tucker, Co-op regional manager, said: “We are delighted to have had the opportunity to make such a significant investment in our Gloucester Road store. It is our aim to establish our stores at the heart of local life, and make a difference in our local communities.

“The store will have a great new look and range and the store manager, Gary Grimsby, and team look forward to welcoming customers back into the store, and to serving the community - it’s all about getting closer to our members and customers, providing what they want, need and care about, conveniently.

“We also want customers to know that they can become a co-owner and member of their Co-op, and that the Co-op gives back to its members and the community - our members help us to make a difference locally, raising money for local causes simply by swiping their Membership card when they shop with us.“
