PERFORMANCE is on the agenda when the the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust holds its annual meeting next week.

The session will focus on stroke care with Dr Louise Shaw, a consultant stroke physician, sharing highlights of the many recent developments of the RUH’s stroke service.

There will be an opportunity to hear more about the latest plans for the Dyson Cancer Centre and a behind-the- scenes look at the new RNHRD and Brownsword Therapies Centre is planned.

And people at the meeting will find out about the work members of staff been doing to become one of the first dementia-friendly hospitals in England.

Alison Ryan, chairman of the trust said: “This will be my first AGM since becoming chair at the RUH.

“I said at the time I was committed to listening to our staff, patients, partners and communities, and the AGM is a wonderful occasion to meet with members and the wider public.”

She urged people to be there on September 30 to hear the discussion and offer their views on the service they have received.

“Please do come along, as well as hearing from the trust it’s a chance for us to hear from you. Tell us what you think of the care we deliver and how we can further improve patient, carer or visitor experience.
Your feedback will help us as we work towards our vision to provide the highest quality care.”

“We will have information stands set up to explain our future plans and other key areas of activity taking place at the hospital. Staff and governors will also be available to answer any questions you may have,” she said.

Those who turn up will hear from key speakers on how the trust has performed its activities, challenges and achievements over the past year.

The hospital was last inspected in June last year by the Care Quality Commission when it was given an overall rating of good.
But inspectors said urgent and emergency care required improvement.

Anyone who wants to go to the meeting is asked to book a place in advance. This can be done by calling the Membership Office on: 01225 821262 or by emailing: RUHmembership@nhs.net
