A COCAINE dealer-accused said to have been found with up to £6,500-worth of drugs in his car has been remanded in custody.

Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, Lee Rumens, 50, of Fullers Close, Melksham, pleaded not guilty to a charge of possession with intent to supply class A drugs.

The self-employed builder was said to have been picked up by police in Chippenham on Thursday, September 19, with 2.5oz of cocaine in his car. The drugs would be worth between £2,500 and £6,500 on the street.

Rumens, a father-of-four, was remanded in custody by magistrates. He is due to appear before Swindon Crown Court on October 18.

Amanda Lee, chairman of the bench, said: "You've pleaded not guilty so you are going to go to trial."

Keith Ballinger appeared for the Crown. Moses Uzodima-Tawo appeared for the defence.
