POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was rescued from a canal in Bewsey yesterday evening, Sunday.
At 7.20pm, three fire engines were called to Lockton Lane to a report of a man being in the canal.
On arrival crews found that he could not get out of the water.
A firefighter got into the canal and was able to pull the casualty out.
Firefighters then administered first aid before handing him over to the care of paramedics.
He was taken to hospital in an ambulance.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 50 minutes.
Police also attended and are investigating the matter.
