TO CELEBRATE its 10th year, Marlborough LitFest gave away £240 worth of books to each local primary school that entered this year's children’s competition.
With the support of the White Horse Bookshop, who sponsor LitFest, school libraries have been filled with pupils' favourite books.
LitFest paid £200 for books for each school, with the bookshop putting a 20% discount on top as a gesture of goodwill.
LitFest offered free books to the first 10 schools to sign up to the children’s competition who were: Marlborough St Marys, Shalbourne, St Michael’s Aldbourne, Ramsbury, Kennet Valley, Baydon, Great Bedwyn, Woodborough, St Katherine’s and Preshute.
The lucky students of these 10 primary schools picked up their favourite books from the White Horse Bookshop on Monday, September 10.
This year's children's competition involved pupils creating 'jackets' for their favourite books, to which there were more than 1,000 entries.
