A BETTING shop in Chippenham was the victim of an armed robbery last night, leading to a police appeal for witnesses.
A man, wearing a puffa jacket with the hood up covering his face, produced a gun at Coral Racing on New Road, at about 9pm on Saturday, and demanded money from the till.
The member of staff behind the counter was threatened and handed over the cash.
He then reportedly left the store via the front door and turned right and up the hill towards the backdoor. A second man, described as white, was waiting at the backdoor.
Both of the men then made their way back towards New Road close to Dominoes before making their way to the town centre.
