A HOUSING redevelopment in Calne has led to the building of 24 new homes, for rent and shared ownership.

Woodroffe Square was a project carried out by property developers, Greensquare, which involved the demolition of old garages and houses to make way for the new set 15 of two and three bedroom houses and nine two bedroom apartments.

Speaking at the launch event on August 29, Barry Wood, managing director for development at GreenSquare, said: “It’s great to be celebrating the completion of this development and to be joined by some of our residents and GreenSquare colleagues, many of whom were involved in the project.

"We are grateful for the support of residents and the local community, as well as Calne Town Council and Wiltshire County Council."

Melissa Waldron, who has now moved in with her husband and two young children, said: “We are starting to feel settled in now and it’s great for the kids to have a garden too, especially over the summer, we got them a paddling pool,”

“We used to live in a top floor flat so had no garden, the conditions weren’t great, it was very cold, whereas here it’s warm and cosy.”
