A 'GREEN' pop-up shop will be opening in Chippenham to help inspire the public to live more sustainably.
The store is to open in Emery Gate, on September 2, the beginning of Zero Waste Week, and will involve a professional upcycler who will re-purpose old clothes and textiles, destined for landfill, into useful household items.
As well as this, the shop will be collecting empty crisp packaging, which will be recycled by Terracycle, with any profits going to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
One of the organisations represented at the shop is MAD about Waste.
Founder, Sue Cassell, said: "The shop and workshops offers practical ways that families and individuals can tackle household waste, and the idea is to make it a fun and creative experience, by getting all ages involved."
Chair of Zero Chippenham, another represented group, Nick Murry, said: "this is a great opportunity for people to learn more about how to make a difference locally in stopping harmful climate change across the world, as well as the destruction of the natural environment."
