A CHARITY, which supports young families, is celebrating after winning more than £30,000 of funding.
Home-Start Kennet was joined by Devizes Mayor Judy Rose for a coffee morning at Times Square cafe in Devizes as they said thank you to the Garfield Weston Foundation for £20,000 and Chippenham Borough Lands which gave £10,758 to support families in Chippenham.
The Pewsey based charity, which receives no government funding is holding a volunteer training course in Devizes in October and wants people to come forward.
Fundraiser Joanne Kent said: “ We’re immensely grateful to Garfield Weston Foundation and Chippenham Borough Lands Charity. Their funding will help us to support even more young families in the local area.
“The coffee morning was held to talk to those interested in volunteering. We were delighted to meet lots of people – including Devizes Mayor, Cllr Judy Rose.” Email hskadmin@homestartkennet.co.uk
