Looking for the best place to get a lovely Sunday roast over the bank holiday weekend?

1The Weighbridge Brewhouse, Penzance Drive

FOR Helen Price The Weighbridge Brewhouse is the clear winner and deserves the crown for the best Sunday roast.

She said: “Their Sunday roast is not cheap, but it is affordable.

“They have menus on their website which I like to browse through between visits to see what’s new.

“It’s all a la carte so I usually ask for some little extras – an extra pot of gravy on the side, apple sauce etc which they have never charged me for. Their dauphinoise potatoes are to die for!”

“Everytime I have been here, service has always come with a smile and staff always seem willing to go above and beyond right from the moment I walk in the door.”

It is open everyday from 12pm to 10pm.

2 The Bank, Wood Street

NATALEY Fryer praised the restaurant for the quality of its meat.

She commented: “Greats cuts of quality meat, fabulous Yorkshire puddings and delicious choice of vegetable sides too! Definitely our favourite in Old Town!”

Shilen Madhani added: “The Bank has the best Sunday Roast.”

Everything is made in house and the restaurant use a 27-day aged Scottish beef

It is opened from 9am to 11:30pm from Tuesday to Thursday and from 9am to 3am from Saturday to Monday.

3 Robins Farm – Dining & Carvery, Latham Road

FOR Charlotte Robinson, Robins Farm offers great deals for families and has improved its quality.

She said: “I went to Robins Farm recently for their two adults and two kids Carvery for £17 and was impressed.

“I went once when it first opened and thought it was awful.

“But recently when I went it wasn’t too busy, the staff were really lovely, five stars food hygiene rating and the food was good.”

It is open everyday from 8am to 11pm.

4 Rat Trap, Highworth Road , Stratton St Margaret

Berni Morton said there are ‘lots of meat’. She added that customers can get five different vegetables in a giant Yorkshire.

She said: “And all is at a reasonable price.” She also enjoys the ‘excellent service” provided by the staff.

And Sally Lambourne described the restaurant as being ‘amazing’.

The place has two bars, a pub garden and a car park.

It is open everyday from Monday to Saturday between 11:30 and 11pm and from 11:30pm to 10:30pm on Sunday.

5 The Rolleston Arms Hotel, Commercial Road

GEMMA Dallman likes the different vegan options the Rolleston Arms provides to its customers.

She said: “Their roast potatoes are THE BEST.

“And they cater for vegans as much as they do for meaty eating people. With a vegan cauliflower and broccoli cheese with every meal.”

Kelz Clarkson added: “Loads of options and dog and child friendly too. Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere.

“The only place I go for Sunday Dinner.”

The place is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. It is open on Thursday from 11am to 11pm, between 11am to 2am on Friday and Saturday and from 12pm to 11pm on Sunday.
