On Sunday a charity cricket match between the Rose and Crown, Trowbridge and The Kings Arms, Trowbridge took place at Trowbridge Cricket Ground. The Rose and Crown won the toss and elected to bat first and posted a score off 154 all out with contributions from Peter Ellis, Luke Weeks and Ivan Mahany.

The Kings Arms had the difficult task of chasing down a good score on a green wicket. Phil Wardingham showed great resistance, standing firm at one end whilst watching wickets tumble at the other. In tricky conditions The Kings Arms showed great fight but fell short at 44 all out.

Stuart Getheridge bowled magnificently for The Rose and Crown returning figures of 3 overs, 1 maiden, 3 wickets for 4 runs. The real winners of the day were the charities with money being raised for Forever Friends - RUH Cancer Centre and Stepping Stones District Specialist Centre. A huge thank you goes out to Adam from Trowbridge Cricket Club who despite some challenging weather did everything to ensure the game went ahead.
