RESIDENTS of a supported housing scheme created an art exhibition, detailing the history of homelessness in Chippenham, which has been installed at the museum.
Unity House, on Wood Lane, is a shelter run by Christian charity Alabare which provides supported accommodation for homeless people in Chippenham.
Service manager, Naomi Webb, explained the residents were encouraged to create the artwork to ‘raise awareness’ of the homeless issue across Wiltshire.
One of the service users who created a lot of the art, Vicky, said: “The exhibit is also meant to show people that homelessness can happen to anybody.
“I’ve worked my whole life and have still struggled to find housing.
“We also wanted to show that homeless people have skills and can actually contribute to society.”
Alex, another resident who worked on the exhibition, said: "Homeless people just want people to notice them and care for them."
