THREE men were arrested in Chippenham after officers stopped a vehicle suspected to have been involved in drug activity.

Police were told that a Seat Arosa was heading towards the town and the men inside had been involved in drug deals in the area.

The car was stopped by officers on Malmesbury Road near to the junction with Hillcorner Road.

A 39-year-old man from Tetbury was arrested on suspicion of possession of a class A drug, drug driving, concerned in the supply of class A drugs and possession of a bladed article.

A 38-year-old man from Calne and a 32-year-old man from Chippenham were arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs, possession of a bladed article and theft.

The car was seized and later searched by the dog unit. Cash, mobile phones and a knife were confiscated.

Inspector Mark Luffman said: “It’s crucial that anyone who suspects an individual of being involved in illegal drugs contacts us and provides us with as much information as possible to help us build an intelligence picture, and take appropriate action."
