SKIRTING boards, chairs and cupboard doors have all been dumped in the car park of Ravensroost reserve near Malmesbury.

The latest incident of fly tipping has now been cleared away by Wiltshire Wildlife Trust, after the rubbish was found by a member of the public on August 6.

Neil Pullen, reserves manager at Wiltshire Wildlife Trust said: “The photo shows a pile dumped in the car park of Ravensroost reserve on Tuesday evening.

"WWT will now have to pay for a skip and divert staff to the site to load rubbish into a skip.

"When fly-tipping is thrown into a pond this is even harder to clear.

"If you are hiring someone to remove rubbish please ensure they have the correct waste carriers licence giving them authority to take rubbish to a registered disposal site.”

A Wiltshire Council spokesperson said: “We are determined to eradicate fly-tipping in Wiltshire as it costs significant money and time to investigate and clear – money we’d much rather spend on vital services. It can also impact our wildlife and habitats.

“We always make every effort to investigate and take action against the individuals who do this.

“We are also working on new initiatives to combat fly-tipping and more details will be released on this soon.

"We can’t eradicate this ourselves and support of the public is vital, so we’d encourage them to download My Wiltshire app or website to report anything they see."
