CALNE Heritage Centre opened their new exhibition last week, detailing the life of Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
The infamous poet lived in the town between 1814-1816 and produced many of his well-known works during these years.
The exhibition was created by Sue Boddington, author and curator of Calne Heritage Centre and historian Nick Baxter.
Mrs Boddington said: "We brought this exhibit to Calne as Samuel Taylor Coleridge was a very important national figure.
"Not many people know much about him and the work he did while he was in Calne."
It was officially opened on 7th August by Ian Enters, from the Friends of Coleridge Society, based in Nether Stowey, a village where Coleridge lived, who praised the range of the exhibition.
Although Coleridge was struggling with drug addiction while in Calne, his stay proved to be a creative period for his writing and he was part of the town’s social life.
The centre is open Wednesday-Sunday and the exhibition runs until September 29.
