A 22-year-old man from Chippenham was arrested on suspicion of drug offences yesterday after officers stopped a vehicle.
At about 9pm on August 5, an officer from the Community Tasking Team were on patrol when they attempted to stop a Peugeot 206 in Lowden Hill.
The driver appeared to acknowledge officers but then continued driving before eventually coming to a stop in Ladyfield Road.
The man was detained and a search was carried out under the Misuse of Drugs Act. Three mobile phones were seized as part of their enquiries.
The man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the offer to supply a Class A drug, driving a vehicle without a licence, drug driving, failing to stop a vehicle when required to do so by an officer and using a vehicle with a cord exposed.
He was taken to Melksham Police Station custody centre for questioning and has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
