THOUSANDS of music fans enjoyed the Ibiza vibe against the quintessential English backdrop of a stately home in Wiltshire on Saturday night.

Classic Ibiza thrilled a capacity audience at Bowood House, near Calne with a heady blend of of Balearic beats, performed by the Urban Soul Orchestra, DJ Goldierocks and live vocalists.

The sold-out gig saw 6,500 people enjoy dance tracks through the ages all played by a full orchestra with several guest singers appearing on stage.

Bowood was transformed into a mini festival as groups of friends and family got their glitter and glow sticks out for the evening of live music.

The concert took the crowd on a magical rollercoaster ride of dance music’s most iconic tracks, reinvented by an orchestra that have worked with the very best in the industry, including Nightmares On Wax, Groove Armada and Robert Miles.

Classic Ibiza is a concert of two halves for all age groups. The atmosphere in the first half was similar to the White Isle’s iconic chill-out bars, with people relaxing with a drink as the sun went down and listening to ambient tunes while enjoying their picnics in the idyllic outdoor setting of Bowood.

The rhythm then steadily built during Goldierocks’ set, reaching a crescendo in the second half when the orchestra and vocalists returned to the stage as night fell and the grounds of Bowood House turned into an alfresco nightclub with accompanying lasers.

Music ranged from Dido and Everything But The Girl to Fatboy Slim and Rihanna.

Stephen Hussey, conductor and founder of The Urban Soul Orchestra, said: “What a way to mark our third year at Bowood. The crowd was amazing, the weather was great, and we certainly seemed to strike a chord with the set list. We feel thoroughly blessed to be able to bring so much joy to so many people.”

Lisa Ward, Director of Revival Productions, organisers of Classic Ibiza, adds: “We’ve made significant investment in the show this year to enhance everyone’s overall experience. I think that’s most visible in the lasers, pyrotechnics and our LED screens, which have taken Classic Ibiza to another level.

"My particular show highlights were USO’s incredible performances of Giant and Firestarter, two tracks voted for by our Facebook followers over Easter. A big thank you to San Miguel, the team at Bowood House and of course our amazing audience.”

USO has released Classic Ibiza, an album of iconic dance anthems, which features many of the tracks being played on the night and is available on CD and all major music websites and apps.
