Ramsbury Primary School were named the top performing primary school in Swindon and Wiltshire for the fifth year running.

This award comes after 46 key stage two students represented the school at the Wiltshire School Games, at Marlborough College.

Ramsbury finished first in the tri golf, third in the tennis, third in athletics, fourth in orienteering and seventh in swimming, building on the hockey success in the Winter School Games, where the primary school won the county finals.

Presenting the Year 6 Sports Leaders with the trophy for the top-performing school award on Monday 22nd, Steve Boocock ,CEO of Wiltshire and Swindon Sport, told the children: “Yet again you have shown determination and teamwork across a range of sports.

"With your participation in 24 of the sporting competitions that we have run throughout the year.

"I’m delighted to be here to present your award – Ramsbury really sets a wonderful example for participation and excellence in primary school sport.”

Kirsty Miles, a PE teacher at Ramsbury, said: "This is a fantastic achievement by the children of Ramsbury.

"For a relatively small school, we try to ensure every child is involved in the sports festivals throughout the year.

"The children’s commitment and enjoyment is reflected by how well they have performed in many different sports throughout the year."
