A MUM has no idea where she will live from today, after authorities have refused to tell her where emergency accommodation will be offered.

Faye Dye, 42, will be evicted from her home in Manningford Bruce a today, and appealed to Wiltshire Council to set her family up with emergency accommodation.

She could be moved anywhere in Wiltshire, but will not know where until she picks up the keys.

Ms Dye is concerned that she will struggle to get her children to school and college if she moves out of the Pewsey area.

She said: “They refuse to tell me where I am going until I sign the paperwork. I have to organise vans and tell my children. I just want to know if it will still be in the village or the area.

“My worry is that it will be happening to other people too out there but They don’t realise the strain it puts not knowing where we will all be going until the day I sign paperwork.”

“I understand that I can’t choose where to go because it is only temporary accommodation however it is causing me a lot of distress as I can’t plan ahead.

“I only have a small network of friends so I don’t know what to do.”

Ms Dye is moving out of her privatly rented home after getting into arrears.

Cllr Richard Clewer, cabinet member for housing, said: “The management of temporary accommodation is a balancing act as we have to leave accommodation available for last minute emergency placements. It is not unknown for families to turn up on the day as homeless so in some cases we have to use accommodation planned for one family at short notice. Unfortunately this situation isn’t unique to Wiltshire and we are always looking at ways to improve our housing offer while competing with increasing demand. We work hard to match temporary accommodation to the household’s needs – considering their household size, links to schooling, employment or other established networks.”
