HUNDREDS of bikers descended on Calne on Saturday for one of the biggest free meets in the country.

There were bikes of all shapes and sizes on every corner in the town centre as motorcyclists young and old alike shared stories about their passion.

A spokesman said: "Calne Bike Meet is an annual, free to attend event bringing together motorcyclists and the local community.

"Our small, Wiltshire town was taken over for the day by every variation of two wheeled machinery imaginable.

"The bikes started to arrive in the town about 8am and our first live band took to the stage at around 11am and the music carried on throughout the day, with the last notes ringing though the town at about 5pm."

But for many the party carried on until much later with many venues welcoming the biking community until much later.

Gazette photographer Trevor Porter was on hand to catch the atmosphere.
