ARCHAEOLOGICAL finds made across Wiltshire will be preserved by Wiltshire Museum after it was granted a £125k loan to find a new storage unit.

Two years ago £75k was provided to Salisbury Museum in Old Sarum, bringing the total spent on two storage units across the county to £200k by Wiltshire Council. Cllr Richard Clewer said: "Being a county with a rich archaeological history we tend to find lots of finds coming out of developments Amesbury alone produces ridiculous amounts of material all of that needs to be stored and preserved. That is done through our museum partners. They have limited space and if you have ever gone round their stores you can barely move because of the amount they have to store."

Developers already provide some funding to house artifacts, however a A loan will be provided by Wiltshire Council to cover the cost remaining to buy the unit.
