ONE man has been arrested and cannabis, phones and a knife have been seized following a drugs warrant in Chippenham this week.
Officers attended an address in Greenway Lane at around 3pm on Wednesday following intelligence about drugs activity there.
They seized a large bag of cannabis, a large knife, numerous mobile phones and other drugs paraphernalia including scales.
A 33-year-old man from Chippenham was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B drugs and has since been released under investigation while police enquiries continue.
PC Isabelle Fairless, from Wiltshire North CPT, said: “I know there is a common misconception of cannabis amongst the public, with many people seeming to think it is a harmless drug and that it is not worth police investigating.
“However, it is an illegal drug and those that deal it do cause great harm to our communities.
“The knock-on effects of drug dealing include anti-social behaviour, violence and other criminality, and the seizure of a weapon at this address proves that point.”
