TAXI driver John Dalley made the most of the huge crowd at the Devizes Scooter Club’s first rally by having his head shaved for charity after being inspired by the story of a little girl.

Ellie Humphries, two, from Bromham was diagnosed with a brain tumour when she was just seven months old and she and her family have been supported by CLIC Sargent .

He heard about Ellie’s battle with cancer from her grandparents Wayne and Helen Plummer who for a number of years ran the Cross Keys pub in Rowde, near Devizes.

His efforts raised £1094.95 for the charity and the thanks of Ellie’s parents Jenna and Luke Humphries.

Mrs Humphries said: “CLIC Sargent have been so supportive of us. We are very grateful to John for raising the money.”

Mr Dalley thanked everyone at the rally which attracted around 150 scooters to Rowde playing field.

He said: “It was a fantastic weekend.”
