CHIPPENHAM Town claimed their first win of pre-season at the weekend as they triumphed 4-0 away at Cirencester Town.

Elias Youssef gave the Bluebirds a narrow lead at half-time before the visitors upped the tempo after the break.

Luke Hopper netted twice – including a penalty – before David Pratt put the icing on the cake with a fourth goal late on.

Mark Collier’s side begin the new National League South season on Saturday, August 3.

Southern League Division One South side Melksham Town were also emphatic winners at the weekend as they thrashed a Yeovil Town XI 6-0 at home.

The Glovers, who were relegated from the Football League last season, fielded an XI consisting largely of trialists.

Jack Ball’s first-half double put Richard Fey’s Melksham in control at half-time before further strikes from Sam Hedges, Luke Ballinger, Callum Demkiv and Will Thomson added gloss to the scoreline in the second period.

Toolstation League Premier Division side Bradford Town went head-to-head with Wiltshire rivals Royal Wootton Bassett Town, of the Hellenic League, last Friday night where the latter earned a 3-2 win on the road.

Fellow Toolstation Premier outfit Westbury United were also in Friday evening action and earned a 1-0 success away at Southern League side Larkhall Athletic.
