A CALNE schoolgirl got a huge surprise at Royal International Air Tattoo when she was photobombed by astronaut Tim Peake.
Laura Paddon, 11, was imagining what it is like to be an astronaut at the event at RAF Fairford when the British spaceman joined in for a photo.
The Derry Hill Primary School pupil was all smiles as she posed next to Tim.
The astronaut was there to inspire the next generation, as he took part in a Q&A session, hosted by Carol Vorderman.
Over 300 people attended and heard him promote Sceince, Technology, Engineering and Maths and explain their importance.
An Air Tattoo spokesman said: "We were absolutely delighted that Tim could join us at the Air Tattoo. It was only made more significant by falling around the 50th anniversary of the first Moon landing which tied in perfectly with our Air & Space theme.
"It was wonderful to see so many excited children looking up in awe at him and I'm sure that all those who met him and heard him speak were left inspired."
The Royal International Air Tattoo took place from July 19-21, showing off 245 aircraft in flypasts and displays.
