THE Fire and Rescue crew from Chippenham Fire Station were called into action on Monday evening when a fire broke out in Colerne.
Just before 8pm, he fire brigade received a call to a hay bale on fire in a field off Road Hill.
The farmer used his digger to prevent the fire from spreading said the fire service.
However the fire had spread to the verge which was dry and was well alight said the crew.
They extinguished the fire using a hose reel.
Police reported on July 2, that children set fire to hay near Chippenham on Upper Cocklebury Lane, causing damage to the value of £1,000.
