THREE people were arrested by police following a burglary at a petrol station in Burbage.

Police received a call from a member of the public reporting an alarm sounding in the village near Pewsey at approximately 5.20am early on Monday (July 8).

A Ford Mondeo had been seen driving off from the scene. A description of the vehicle was given to officers and it was spotted travelling through Everleigh.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle and followed the car until it crashed at the junction of the A342 and A338.

Three men ran off but were caught and arrested before being taken to hospital for and then taken to custody in Melksham.

The men, aged 24, 29 and 35, all from the London area, were arrested on suspicion of burglary.

Superintendent Phil Staynings thanked the public reporting the burglary.
