THE Wessex Concert Orchestra will present a musical feast of dance music in Devizes on Saturday July 6.

The orchestra says it is "very excited about performing some amazing music" at the concert at 7.30pm at the Corn Exchange.

With an international flavour, the main piece will be extracts from The Carmen Suite (Bizet).

This is full of passionate and exciting music based on Spanish dances including the very well known ‘Toreador’s song’ and ending with ‘Dance Boheme’ which in the opera depicts a gypsy dance performed at a tavern.

Also in the programme will be an extract from Swan lake (Tchaikovsky), the Grand March from Aida (Verdi) and Lord of the Dance and other foot-tapping gems.

WCO conductor Tim Harrison said: "We hope this programme of familiar and fun dance music puts you in the spirit for the summer holidays, especially if you want to visit your favourite European countries."
