TRAINS operated by Great Western Railway are now back up and running after it cancelled all services between Reading and Westbury earlier this morning following a signal failure.
In a statement on its website, GWR said: “Following a fault with the signalling system between Reading and Westbury all lines have now reopened.
“Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 60 minutes. Disruption is expected until 10am.
Rail replacement road transport is currently being resourced but not expected to be put in place until at least 9:30am.
“Customers with GWR tickets from Pewsey and Newbury to London via Reading may use these tickets to travel from Swindon and Didcot stations.
“Reading buses jetBlack 1: Newbury (Wharf), Thatcham (Cropper Close), Midgham, Aldermaston, Theale (The Crown), Reading (Station) are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
“South Western Railway are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.”
