FINE weather was a bonus at the summer fete organised jointly by Wootton Bassett Infants School and Noremarsh Junior School, at Noremarsh's spacious playing field and grounds. The event attracted crowds of supporters to enjoy a wide range of stalls, sideshows, refreshments and games.

As well as a well-stocked barbecue and bar, the school hall was transformed into a tea room, offering an appetising array of cakes. Children relished the opportunity to see a fire engine on the playground, and to learn about the local emergency services.

A drumming workshop with Kaya Rhythm & Arts proved popular, and face painting transformed some young visitors into interesting creatures. There was also a falconry display, and live music by The Academy Band, Mrs Staten's Family Band and The Daybreakers.

The organisers offered "a massive thank you" to head teachers Mr Hazzard and Mr Simpson, their colleagues, the fete's many sponsors, and all who supported the event.
