VISITORS to Chippenham to watch the carnival in July will be able to park for free in the town's car parks.
The town council said the ones at Bath Road, Borough Parade, Brakemead, Emery Gate, Gladstone Road, Sadlers Mead, Spanbourn Avenue and Wood Lane Zone A would be free on Saturday, July 13.
However Wood Lane Car Park will be closed for the day to guarantee access for the procession participants to meet from 4pm.
Cllr Sandie Webb, leader of Chippenham Town Council said: “We are delighted to be able to offer these free parking spaces for such a popular community event in the town.”
There a number of events taking place in the town from noon with the carnival procession leaving the Wood Lane par park at 7pm before proceeding through the streets.
A theme of space was chosen to mark the moon landing of 1969 which will feature in some of the events ranging from dance demonstrations, games, rides, fancy dress and live music all hosted by Doc Brown.
