MARLBOROUGH Mayor will be the first to spend a penny, or at least cut the ribbon, when new loos open in the town on Monday.
He will declare the town hall toilets open after a campaign spanning eight years. It will mean the town will once again have two public conveniences in the centre of town.
The unisex loos will have space for wheelchairs but not mobility scooters unlike George Lane toilets which are big enough. Baby changing facilities are provided and the toilets will be open from 8am to 8pm seven days a week at a cost of 20p a visit.
The basement of the town hall has been converted to create the toilets.
