THERE was praise in the rain when Devizes Churches Together joined forces to celebrate Pentecost In The Park.
Christians from many Devizes churches were in Hillworth Park to enjoy music and worship and did not let the weather get in the way.
A spokesman said: "Christians came together last Sunday to celebrate Pentecost - the coming of the Holy Spirit to start the Christian Church.
"Musicians from five churches provided the music which featured modern worship songs and finished off with a set of 60's and 70's classics.
"Between sets Adrian Burholt entertained both children and adults with his magic tricks - and his Pentecost hat with its impressive array of (fabric) candles.
"The weather varied all afternoon from warm sunshine to chilly showers, and there was some very rapid clearing up at the end as an even bigger downpour headed our way. But people stayed - under the trees and in a very crowded 'prayer shack' - and from the appreciation received we will definitely be back next year."
