TICKETS have already sold out for the Kaiser Chiefs, who are to headline the Saturday night entertainment at Armed Forces Day National Event in Salisbury on June 29.

The indie rock band, who release their seventh album Duck on July 26, will headline the main stage at Hudson’s Field as the country marks National Armed Forces Day.

Shine for Salisbury winners The Treblemakers will get the party started on the Saturday evening with The Upbeat Beatles before the renowned Leeds band take to the stage at around 9pm. The evening’s live music is sponsored by platinum sponsor Lovell.

The Friday night will open with an evening dedicated to the UK’s Armed Forces, with a barbecue for them and their families along with entertainment.

The entertainment will be open to all and will see second Shine for Salisbury winners Duck n Cuvver get the Friday evening going before headliners The Feeling take to the stage.

Internationally renowned band Björn Again will bring the three-day spectacular to a close on Sunday performing many of ABBA’s greatest hits after a rousing performance by the third Shine for Salisbury winners, Salisbury Rock Choir.

“It’s a fantastic line-up over the three nights with Kaiser Chiefs, The Feeling and Björn Again, we’re proud to be putting on three evenings of great live music with a really varied line-up that will appeal to everyone.”

Armed Forces Day is an opportunity to show support for the men and women who make up the Armed Forces community from current serving troops to service families, veterans and cadets.

Armed Forces Day nationally takes place on the last Saturday in June; this year it is on June 29 with the national event being held in Salisbury.

Celebrations begin on Monday 24 June when the Armed Forces Day flag is raised on buildings and landmarks across the country.
