POLICE appealing for witnesses to a two-vehicle collision in Chippenham in the early hours of Sunday morning.
The crash took place at 00.25am on the A350 West Cepen Way between the roundabout at Bumpers Farm and the roundabout close to the McDonald's outlet.
A BMW collided with a large goods vehicle.
The two occupants of the BMW were trapped and had to be removed by crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Both were taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where they remain in a serious but stable condition. bThe lorry driver was uninjured.
The road was blocked as a result of the collision and was closed until 7am while collision investigators examined the scene and recovery of both vehicles could be carried out.
A police spokesman said: "We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information regarding it.
"Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote log 13 of the 16th of June."
