TWO people were released by fire crews after being trapped in their vehicle following a collision at Chippenham on Sunday.
Two pumps from Chippenham, a pump from Corsham, a heavy rescue appliance from Trowbridge and a flexi-duty officer were mobilised to the accident on West Cepen Way in Chippenham.
On arrival, the crews found a crash involving one articulated lorry and one saloon car.
Two people were released from the car using hydraulic cutting gear and were left in the care of emergency paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service. The lorry driver escaped unhurt.
A slight leak of methane from the HGV fuel tank occurred which froze over and sealed the leak.
The fire crews left the scene with the Police to await a recovery of the vehicles.
