THE annual Newhaven Fish Festival is being held at West Quay lawns in Newhaven today.
The popular annual event, dedicated to celebrating Newhaven’s fishing industry, will see Bickerstaff and Olly’s Fish Shack showcase their array of fishy offerings.
Now in its 16th year the event, which is organised by Sussex Community Development (SCDA), will also host community group stalls, a bouncy castle and live entertainment throughout the day on the green.
Furthermore, a children’s parade will march from Denton Island Community Centre through the town and on to West Quay – meeting at 9.30am and beginning at 9.45am.
Carly Norris, SCDA community development worker, expressed her excitement ahead of the festival.
She said: “A massive thank you to Newhaven Town Council, Veolia and Rampion, who support this significant community event every year.”
