ANOTHER Clean Air Day to focus attention on pollution from vehicle exhaust fumes and its impact on health is to be held in Bradford on Avon on Thursday, June 20.

It has been organised by Cllr Sarah Gibson, the Wiltshire councillor for Bradford on Avon South and chairman of the Wiltshire Council's Community Area Transport Group for the town.

Cllr Gibson said: “This year it is all about walking. People don't realise that sitting in traffic in their cars haw much pollution they are themselves breathing in.

“So we will have clearly signposted routes for the day for low pollution walking. At rush hour times, it will take almost as long to drive from the edge of town to the station or The Shambles as it would to walk.”

Members of the town’s Clean Air campaign group include Cllr Sarah Gibson, James Sullivan-Tailyour, owner of The Swan Hotel, Trevor Bedeman from White Stripes, and Paige Balas, from Ideal Bradford on Avon.
