FROM the Bronze age to the 21st century the village of Ogbourne St George has seen it all.

Now the heritage of the area is displayed on an information board by St Andrew's Church.

It was unveiled by Donald Sherlock, Chairman of the North Wessex Downs Landscape Trust depicts and explains the evolution of the village.

Bruce Fox, of the local history group explained that the board reflected the geophysical and archaeological research undertaken in recent years and ongoing.

A resistivity survey of the barrow is currently underway enabled by a significant local volunteer effort to remove scrub and dead wood last autumn and more dead and diseased trees will be removed soon.

The majority of the funding for the board came from a grant given by the Sustainable Development Fund administered by the North Wessex Downs Landscape Trust, on behalf of the North Wessex Downs AONB.
