STRANGE and quirky scarecrows representing famous brand names are appearing in Kington Langley this weekend as the village's annual festival takes place and the charity Doorway will be the winner.
Organiser Steve Howe said: “Doorway is a local charity that does great work to support the homeless in Chippenham, and those at risk of losing their home.
"It’s our pleasure to support this organisation, which works tirelessly to support those in need in our local community,”
The annual festival, this Saturday and Sunday, June 15-16, is hoping to raise over £2,500 for the charity after the organisers chose Doorway as the recipient of its Elizabeth Coles Award.
Created to honour the founder of the festival, the award gives 25 per cent of the funds to the chosen charity. The festival featuring 70 scarecrows are found along a village trail from the village hall where there is live music, stalls and circus workshops, a barbecue and refreshments.
