A FAMILY fun day run by Chippenham town council took place in John Coles Park over last weekend.

The mayor of Chippenham opened the event and welcomed all stall holders and visitors to enjoy the day.

Chippenham Town Councillors were raising funds for the mayor’s charity of choice Doorway Wiltshire Ltd on their tombola stand with prizes on offer.

Local charity and community groups also had fundraising stands offering games such as hook a duck, face painting and raffles.

The theme this year was get active outdoors so the fun included inflatable games and sports, circus skills, giant Jenga and Connect Four.

Summer tunes were played by the DJ in the Bandstand and food options were available including strawberries and cream, wood fired pizza, Thai food and chilli.

Cllr Teresa Hutton, chairman of the amenities, culture and leisure committee at Chippenham town council said: “We are delighted with our Family Fun Day again this year.

“We were so lucky with the weather as many people came to the park to support local charities and community groups and enjoy the activities we had on offer.”
