A MAN in his 60s was allegedly kicked in the face and ribs during an attack by a gang of four youths in Falmouth on Friday night.

Details of the alleged incident have been circulating on social media.

It is claimed that, sometime between 9.30pm and 9.45pm on Friday, a 66-year-old man was attacked a gang of four youths – three boys and one girl – aged between 16 and their early 20s, in Basset Street, Falmouth.

It is alleged that they hit the man and then kicked him in the face and ribs while he was on the floor.

It is believed that the man was on his way home from having a drink in town and had stopped off at a shop to buy household items.

The reports allege that the gang took his bag and threw its contents down the road.

The incident has been reported to the police.

The man is said to have been treated for his injuries and is now recovering.

The Packet has contacted the police, but has been told that no details will be released today because the force's out-of-hours media service only deals with 'live' incidents.
