IT was a dream come true when Calne student Kathryn Marygold, 22, entered Buckingham Palace through the front gates to collect her Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award.
“I felt like a Princess. I’m not sure why we were allowed through the front entrance but it was the best part of the day,” she said.
Kathryn is a day student at National Star College for young people with complex disabilities and learning difficulties based in Cheltenham. She has Worster-Drought Syndrome, a type of cerebral palsy.
Kathryn attended the awards with her assistant Imogen, and met Jenni Bond from the BBC.
