SIX charities have received donations of £1,000 each as part of the Movement for Good awards.
Alzheimers Support in Trowbridge, Action Through Enterprise in Marlborough, Swindon Carers Centre, Bath Cancer Unit Support Group, The Parochial Church Council Of Harnham All Saints and St George’s and Wiltshire Search And Rescue Team are those set to benefit from the money.
The awards, set up by insurers Ecclesiastical, will see a total of £1million given to charities across the country this summer. Members of the public were invited to nominate causes close to their hearts, with 500 awards of £1,000 available for donation.
More than 1,300 residents took part in the nomination process, voting for over 70 charities across the region.
Mark Hews, Group CEO of Ecclesiastical, said: “We have seen a fantastic public response to our Movement for Good awards. It’s clear that people care deeply about good causes in their region."
