THIS weekend some strange characters can be spotted in Lacock as a scarecrow trail takes place.
The trail runs from 9am-4pm from May 25-27 with a trail sheet available to follow and discover all 50 scarecrows.
Profits from the trail sheets go to the friends of Lacock school and previous scarecrow trails have funded new computers, tablets, interactive screens and to refurbish the school library.
The theme this year is puddings, desserts and sweet treats.
There are prizes on offer, with the first prize a £300 voucher for Watlings jewellers, as well as a £200 voucher for the Whitehall Garden Centre, with the winner of the childrens' trail (the theme is household items) claiming a free entry into the Boomerang soft play centre.
Volunteers and community groups help to run the event including the Beaver and Cub Scouts and members of the church. Refreshments will be provided at the school and there is small fun fair.
