YOUNG people in Chippenham are invited to a free night out in the town with a Club Night at the Neeld in the High Street.
The pilot event is on Friday, June 14, and features music from DJ Eventimate, free snacks and sweets and soft drinks, while there will be low key supervision from adults and no alcohol.
Cllr Peter Hutton said: "The Club Night is a wonderful new pilot project being promoted and supported by the Chippenham Lyn (Local youth Network) and its key partners to help expand the current youth offering within the Town and its hoped that if proved successful the club night will become a regular event for our young people to enjoy."
Aimed at ages 14-18 the Club Night is a combined initiative from the Chippenham Town Council and Kandu Arts backed by the police and with sponsorship from local supermarkets.
The organisers hope the evening will provide "opportunities for partner organisations to build community ties identify vulnerable individuals and develop better social cohesion" with the young.
